Karim Solanji, J.D.
Karim received his J.D. from South Texas College of Law where he was a member of the South Texas Law Review. He began his career working for major investment banks starting at Morgan Stanley before moving to Merrill Lynch. During law school, Karim worked as a Judicial Legal Assistant to the Honorable Judge Jeff Bohm of the U.S. Federal Bankruptcy Court. He also spent two years practicing corporate law with a highly respected mid-size firm. Upon graduation from law school, Karim joined a national tax consulting firm specializing in the Research & Development Tax Credit. During his experience there, he worked with a variety of clients including wineries, software development firms, medical technology companies, manufacturing companies, and engineering companies.
Saqib Dhanani, J.D.
Saqib received a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Houston and a J.D. from South Texas College of Law. While at South Texas College of Law, he was a member of the South Texas Law Review journal and served as a member of Phi Delta Phi.
He brings over six years of software engineering and applications development experience from various Fortune 500 companies, and several years of R&D Tax Credit and audit experience from national tax consulting firms. Saqib has also served as a Lead Systems Analyst at Unocal (currently ChevronTexaco), where he researched and analyzed potential compatibility issues with proprietary company software. In addition, he has worked with Dynegy, Nalco-Exxon Energy Chemicals, and other oil and gas companies to develop software applications and implement server hardware and software solutions. Currently, Saqib is spearheading the audit defense division at Paradigm Partners, where he manages a team of Tax Controversy Attorneys.
Saqib is licensed to practice before the United States Tax Court and before all state courts of Texas.
Zee Makhani
Zee received his B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell University. For over two years, he headed up the production department as a director at a national tax consulting firm focusing on the R&D Tax Credit Incentive. He performed technical research, and trained the sales and production department. During this experience, Zee conducted over 100 R&D Tax Credit studies generating over $15 million in tax credits for a wide variety of clients, primarily Civil/Structural engineering firms, Manufacturing/Fabrication companies, Environmental and Recycling firms, Chemical engineering firms, and hardware and software development companies. Immediately prior to that, Zee headed the operations department for a wireless technology startup company for over three years as a managing director and was involved in all aspects of the company’s engineering and logistical operations. Prior to that, he worked at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) for over three years as a design engineer and then later as a technical product manager, where he worked closely with engineering department to ensure product and client specifications were met.
Brian Cameron
Brian received his B.B.A in Finance from Texas A&M University. Because of his proven leadership and management skills, he was offered a high level management position with a $1 billion dollar retailer but led by his entrepreneurial spirit, made the decision to start a multi-line insurance agency and grew it to over $3 million in premiums collected in less than one year. After spending 6 years growing the insurance business, and with his passion for bringing value add services to corporations, Brian co-founded Paradigm Partners a national tax consulting/ engineering firm focusing on helping Fortune 1000 companies, CPA firms, and manufacturers of all sizes with niche tax benefits such as the R&D Tax Credit and Engineering Based Cost Segregation, generating over $150 million in tax benefits for their clients. Brian is currently the Executive Vice President of Business Development and Executive Director of Cost Segregation for Paradigm Partners.
Mark Lauber
Mark has a B.S (Mathematics) from Concordia University and an M.S. in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from the University of Texas – Austin. He has almost 30 years of experience in the computer industry starting as a Support Analyst for 8 years and the rest in various sales positions earning multiple 100% Quota Club Awards. Mark's experience has mostly been with companies providing leading edge technologies such as Computer-Based Training, Email Services and Executive Information Systems. His most recent experience has been in the sales and marketing of Cost Segregation Studies over the last 4 years with one of the major Cost Segregation Consulting firms. Over the last 2 years, Mark has been selling R&D Tax Credit Services for Paradigm Partners. He was recently promoted to Vice President of Marketing with Paradigm Partners and is focused on the creating and maintaining lead generations systems. His duties include writing Press Releases, writing Articles, scheduling and filling CPE Webinars and interfacing with the sales organization.
