Associate Attorney (Posted October 29, 2009)

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Defend research credit reviews on examination with IRS R&D Engineers or in conjunction with pre-filing agreement processes.
  • Researches and analyzes federal, state and local tax issues.
  • Joint responsibility with Audit Attorneys for IRS audit process, specifically coordination, preparation and primary review of responses to IRS auditor’s information requests and notice of proposed adjustments, and development of strategies to deal with disputed issues and ultimate audit resolution.
  • Assist in the development of R&D training materials and work tools. 

Requirements

  • J.D. REQUIRED
  • CPA REQUIRED
  • Minimum 2 Years Working as a CPA REQUIRED
  • Must have experience amending and filing corporate and personal tax returns
  • LLM in Taxation & Previous Big 4 experience PREFERRED
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to pay specific attention to minute details
  • Ability to communicate complex and technical matters in a simple and clear manner
  • Confidence, initiative, strong analytical skills, and exceptional follow-through skills
  • Available for minimal travel

Cost Segregation Engineer (Posted August 12, 2009)

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Costing of all components of architectural, site, mechanical and electrical construction utilizing pricing manuals as well as industry accepted techniques and methods
  • Independently completing detailed quantity take-off and documentation of all architectural, site, mechanical and electrical components as required
  • Using professional judgment in regard to determining the physical condition of building components
  • Collection of construction field data on buildings through measuring, and production of detailed notes acceptable for costing and audit purposes
  • Independently identifying building components that will be segregated for depreciation acceleration
  • Generation of computer reports including incorporation of costs details, references, and summaries of technical construction data
  • Work as necessary to complete client engagements by the pre-established tax and client deadlines

Requirements

  • Must have at least 2 years of Cost Segregation Engineering experience
  • Must possess extensive knowledge of the federal rules and regulations and court decisions governing tax depreciation
  • Bachelors Degree in Structural, Civil or Construction Engineering Preferred
  • Must possess excellent organizational and computer skills
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment and meet deadlines

Tax Attorney (Posted February 13, 2009)

Primary Responsibilities

Paradigm Partners is a national tax consulting firm seeking to hire a licensed attorney with a minimum of 2 years litigation and/or IRS Audit experience for a Tax Attorney position. Duties of a Tax Attorney include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Constantly generate potential leads for R&D tax credit opportunities
  • Interview potential clients and/or CPA firms to assess the R&D eligibility
  • Follow up and manage all qualified leads through a structured sales cycle
  • Maintain and update our contact management database and report on current activities

Requirements

  • Minimum two years experience selling professional services. Preferred: Selling services and/or products to CPA firms.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with decision makers
  • Creative in generating leads and in persistently following up these leads
  • Have great organizational and time management skills
